About
Carolyn Duryea is the founder/designer of Pearl Superfly jewelry, whose work is guided by an instinct for the ethereal, a soupcon of alchemy, and a deep love of pearls. Possessing a deep reverence for a classic string of pearls, (her grandmother’s, specifically), combined with a passion to push boundaries, has resulted in the unique signature style of PSF. She has been making jewelry for over 20 years and started working exclusively with pearls in 2005. Every piece of PSF is handmade by Carolyn.
Over the course of a career spanning film production, creative direction, interior and jewelry design, she has cultivated a signature aesthetic — part eclectic, part elegance — that resists the obvious and rewards a deeper look. That same sensibility has extended beyond the design world. Carolyn is a partner in Hourglass, the acclaimed Napa Valley winery founded in 1997, alongside her husband, Jeff Smith.
